Smart lighting

Light the way to their unit.

Connect lighting to customer access, so the route to a unit lights up for a visit and returns to your configured settings afterwards.

A customer arriving after dark needs to find the right corridor, not a light switch. Bearbox links lighting zones with access zones, making lighting part of the visit rather than a separate task.

Light the route to their unit

Link lighting zones to the corridors, floors or bays customers use. A visit can switch on the relevant route while other zones keep their own settings. Customers can find their way without looking for a switch.

Explore access zones

Keep the visit lit

Customers may make several trips between their vehicle and unit. Set visit triggers, movement detection and switch-off timing around those journeys, including the route out.

  1. Customer arrives

Entry activates the lighting zones linked to the customer’s route.

  2. The visit continues

Lighting follows your visit settings. Suitable movement sensors can also trigger or maintain light while people use the area.

  3. Lighting returns to its settings

After use, lighting returns to your switch-off settings. Allow for the time customers need to leave.

Use suitable lighting already installed

Bearbox can control suitable existing circuits. We check fittings, drivers and wiring to see which areas can be switched independently and where changes are needed.

Match zones to circuits

Match lighting circuits to access areas. A shared circuit may need a different approach from independently wired corridors.

Add movement detection where useful

Use motion sensing where it helps keep the right areas lit. Sensor choice and placement depend on the layout.

Questions about smart lighting?

Practical answers for planning your site.

Do we need new light fittings?

Existing fittings may be suitable. We check their controls, drivers and wiring, including which circuits can be switched independently.

Will lights switch off while someone is using their unit?

Set lighting around the time customers need at the unit and on the route out. Suitable movement sensors can help maintain light while an area is in use. Switch-off timing depends on your site settings.

How much energy will this save?

Savings depend on your existing lights, opening hours and visit patterns. Switching relevant zones can reduce time spent lighting unused areas. A savings figure needs measurements from your own site.
