Access zones

Give every customer a route to their unit.

Choose the doors, floors and buildings each person can reach, with individual access hours. Keep other areas restricted while they visit their unit.

Valid gate access needn't open every corridor. Bearbox defines the route each customer needs to reach their unit, keeping the rest of your site restricted.

Permissions follow the route to the unit

Set permissions from the main gate through internal doors and lifts. Keep other floors, buildings and staff rooms restricted to the people who need them.

Across floors and buildings

A customer renting upstairs needs the entrance, lift and relevant corridor. Build those access points into their permissions while keeping unrelated parts of the site restricted.

Different routes for different people

Give staff, contractors and customers access to the areas relevant to them. A cleaner's permitted route can cover shared corridors while customer access follows their unit.

Independent or nested areas

Keep buildings separate, or organise smaller areas within a wider zone, such as corridors within a floor.

Access matched to the rental

Give different rental plans access to different areas, such as climate-controlled units, outdoor bays or shared facilities.

Review activity by area

Filter access records by zone to review the customer, entrance and time involved.

Take customers to the right floor

Lift access follows each person’s permissions. Customers can choose the floors they are allowed to use on the keypad, while other floors stay restricted. Include the lift and the corridor beyond it in the route to their unit.

Set hours for each person

Give a customer extended hours or a contractor a scheduled visit without changing access for everyone. Set public-area hours separately and vary schedules by day, including weekends and public holidays.

Customer hours

Give each customer the hours you agree while others keep their usual schedule.

Staff and contractor hours

Limit access to the doors and hours needed for the work. Keep sensitive areas under separate permissions.

Keep other alarm areas protected

The customer’s route and unit can disarm during their visit. Other areas stay protected. With BearLock fitted, their own unit can unlock too. Protection returns when the visit ends under your site’s rules.

  1. Arrive

The customer’s credentials, permissions and access hours determine entry. The relevant alarm areas disarm for the visit.

  2. Reach their unit

Their permitted doors and floors are available. Their own BearLock can release while unrelated units stay protected.

  3. End the visit

Protection returns when the visit ends under your site’s visit rules.

Update the route when the rental changes

A customer moving units may need a different corridor or floor. Supported rental changes can update their access through the provider’s connector. Check unit mapping and access zones together so the new permission leads to the right unit.

Questions about access zones?

Practical answers for planning your site.

Can one person access several buildings or floors?

Yes. Give each person access to the buildings, floors and doors they need. Someone renting two units can reach both while unrelated areas stay restricted.

Can Bearbox control lift access?

Yes. Lift access can be linked to each person’s permitted floors. The keypad lets them select an authorised floor while other floors remain restricted. We review the lift controls and the route beyond the lift when planning the connection.

Does a customer's visit disarm the whole site?

The customer’s route and unit can disarm for the visit while other areas stay protected. Protection returns when the visit ends under your site’s rules. Their own BearLock can also unlock, where fitted.

Can public areas have different hours?

Yes. Public access hours can be scheduled for relevant areas, while customer and staff access follows their permissions. We help define which entrances serve public areas and how those routes should work outside public opening hours.

Map the access your site needs.

Bring a floor plan and the routes customers and staff use. We’ll review the doors, hours and alarm areas for each visit.
